~BIO~

I have worked in the fashion industry for a decade starting as a CAD application specialist with Lectra in 2000. I supported clients on u4ia as well as Primavision. While trouble- shooting software issues, and work flows, I provided advice on best practices.  I accepted a role at The Apparel Group Ltd in the spring 2001, a men's dress and sport shirt manufacturer. I worked with clients such as Dillard's, Kohl's, Nordstrom, Jos A Bank's and Men's Warehouse. As a CAD designer, I developed yarn dye woven, knits, prints, presentation boards, technical sketches and product catalogs.

In 2004 I was promoted to CAD Manager and brought a new era of design to the company. In 2006, TAG was one of 4 companies chosen to participate in Lectra's beta testing for Kaledo. Lectra's new software is the next generation in advanced textile software which is replacing U4ia. I was able to implement the software within 6 months while working closely with Lectra's R&D team to trouble-shoot the software. I excel in creating life-like samples that are true to actual specifications such as construction, yarn size, yarn content, yarn twist, and color. This applies to knits as well. I am able to create Damask (jacquards), dobbies and simple weave structures with ease. The hand looms and CAD's are almost identical and this leads to better decision making.

Over the years I have acquired extensive color management skills that cross many design platforms. I am able to manage color from Kaledo to Adobe products and predict its output. This is important in the design world because we all struggle with color, and we use many different applications. When we are able to predict the outcome of the final product, it saves time and money. In the end we can focus on what we do best...Design!

I am currently freelancing  for and  B-W-A. BWA is the premier provider of men's, women's & children's woven shirts & sleepwear for private brands. I have also freelanced for Land's End .
